EgSPEN was established on 25 / 8 / 2004, its first and honoree president was Prof. Dr. Moustafa Gad El Hak, God rests his soul.

Our target population is the whole community in the Medical and Non-Medical fields.

Our ultimate destination is indoors and outdoors in the hospital, at school, in clubs as well as at home.

 Our Goals include:

• Building up nutritional pillars in the medical foundation.
• Highlighting on the role of physicians, of all specialties, pharmacists, nurses & dietitians in the nutritional cascade.
• Nutritional Health promotion of the public through proper nutritional awareness, education & brain storming.
• Establishing periods and reviewing nutritional protocols for feeding in health & disease with emphasis on sports vulnerable groups, feeding during pregnancy, infant breast feeding, athletes & sport nutrition, combating obesity and nutrition in diseased cases as Hepatic, Renal function and Cardiac patients.
• Proper Nutrition Administration and safe guarding against nutritional instructions.
• Establishing nutritional support team inside our hospitals.
• Monitoring, fulfilling and assessing nutritional induces.

Finally, we must always keep in mind that proper nutrition is not a luxurious modality whose role comes before any Pharmaco-Therapy of any medical disease.

Furthermore, nutrients can be used nowadays as a drug to supplement and complement medications as well as to boost immunity remarkably.
